Competency-based education or outcome-based education?
For this particular course, I will be using competency-based education. I chose this because this particular course's purpose is to understand and remember how to use basic Google applications to be successful in our district. It is more about knowing how to use them instead of the necessity to create and apply with the tools at this stage.

Design Approach
This course has an an online design. While this course is online, it will still have weekly deadlines to keep the learners on task and allow for collaboration within the course. I believe it is important to not only have the information from the instructor, but to also have collaboration with peers while learning something new.
Assessment Balance
This course will assess the learners through quizzes, assignments, and discussion questions. This will allow for various methods of assessment to help determine if the learners are truly understanding the material that has been presented.
Deeper Learning
This particular course does not have deeper learning, however it will aid in having deeper learning with my teachers in the future. My innovation plan involves having teachers choosing different technology programs to use with their students and understanding some of the basics from this course will help the teachers in future courses and programs with me in our district.
Who controls the learning?
In this introductory course, the learning is primarly controlled by the instructor of the course. Due to the nature of the course being required for teachers to understand basic Google applications, it is focused more on understanding and remembering than creating.

Reflection
At the end of each class in my ADL program at Lamar, we write a Contribution to My Learning post. I look at this as a reflection of the class and what I learned in it. That post can be found here.
