When creating a significant learning environment, we need to make sure that the goals and expectations are clear for the learners. In addition, we want to make sure that they can practically apply what they are learning into their lives. When working on the outcomes, activities, and assessments for my innovation plan, it was important to me that the learners understood that while technology can assist them in their classrooms as teachers, it can never be the primary focus. If we don't keep the instructional goal as the primary focus, the technology will hurt our instruction instead of help it. This is why my Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is:

Upon completion of the school year, learners will have found and utilized technology tools to use in the classroom that align with their selected instructional goals making sure that the instructional goals take precedence, not the technology.

Creating my BHAG allowed me to start at the end and work my way back to the beginning when creating the course that the teachers will participate in with me as the Technology Integration Specialist at our district. I believe that the course outcomes that I describe below and my 3 column table will influence my innovation plan by allowing teachers to have choice in their learning. In addition, the teachers will evaluate and reflect on how they felt during the learning with the hope that this will lead to them having a growth mindset and helping their students have a growth mindset when learning new things.

Technology in the classroom can be overwhelming for some teachers while others find it exciting. I am attempting to create a course that will allow teachers with all experiences to find something beneficial and grow in their abilities to use technology in the classroom.

Here you will find my 3 Column Table along with my situational factors and questions regarding the learning goals.
